Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how to delete data BotSquirrel holds, including anything obtained through a connected Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp Business account. It complements our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.

1. If you are a business customer

You are the account holder. To delete your account and everything in it:

1. Email hello@botsquirrel.com from the address on the account, with the subject Delete my account, or message us on WhatsApp at +44 7472 323783.
2. We confirm the request with you, so nobody can delete your data by guessing your email.
3. We delete your account, your knowledge base, your conversations and enquiries, and any access tokens for connected channels. Connected WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram accounts are disconnected and the stored tokens are destroyed.

We complete deletion within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done.

2. If you messaged a business that uses BotSquirrel

If you are a customer who chatted with a business on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or a website chat widget, that business controls your conversation and we only process it on their behalf.

1. Ask that business to delete your data. They can do it themselves in their BotSquirrel inbox.
2. If you cannot reach them, email hello@botsquirrel.com with the business name and the phone number or account you messaged from. We will pass the request to them and support them in actioning it.

3. Revoking access from Meta's side

You can also disconnect BotSquirrel from your Meta assets without contacting us:

1. Go to business.facebook.com → Settings → Business integrations.
2. Find BotSquirrel and choose Remove.

Access is revoked immediately and any token we hold stops working. To also have the stored data erased, follow section 1 or 2 above — revoking access alone stops future processing but does not delete what was already received.

4. What we keep, and why

After deletion we retain only what the law requires: billing and tax records (6 years under UK law) and minimal security logs. These contain no conversation content and no channel access tokens.
